We’re proud to share that Sention Technologies, one of the first companies built through the Prosemino venture builder, has raised £3.7 million in seed funding to accelerate the commercialisation of its pioneering battery diagnostics platform.
The round was led by Twin Path Ventures, alongside a strong syndicate of climate and deep tech investors including Doral Energy-Tech Ventures, Endgame Capital, Energy Revolution Ventures, G.K. Goh Ventures, Green Angel Ventures, Third Sphere, and the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund.
Listening to Batteries: A New Paradigm in Diagnostics
Sention’s proprietary technology uses ultrasound to scan batteries in real time — enabling manufacturers to ‘see inside’ cells without opening or damaging them. By analysing acoustic signals and pairing them with AI-driven analytics via the Sentinel platform, Sention can assess battery health, grade performance, and forecast failure. Their Senturion instrument is already deployed in R&D and pilot settings, with the fully inline Sentry system in development for high-throughput gigafactory lines.
The goal: smarter, safer, and more efficient battery manufacturing.
How Sention Was Built — Not Just Supported — at Prosemino
Sention wasn’t simply a company we helped fund or advise — it was built inside Prosemino from day one. Two members of our team took on interim leadership roles (COO and GM), working directly within the founding team to set strategy, run operations, and drive business development and fundraising alongside CEO Dan Brett.
We worked side by side with the CEO to lead the company+building effort end to end — including:
- Shaping the technology and business strategy in close collaboration with the inventors
- Hosting the team within our own lab space, using our equipment and infrastructure
- Managing operational foundations — from legal setup and accounting to investor relations, due diligence, and data room coordination
- Driving early market engagement, customer validation, and IP protection
- Securing non-dilutive funding and investor introductions, but also crafting the strategy and collateral to convert those opportunities into commitments
This was more than “support.” It was deep operational build—from the first conversation to a £3.7M raise and a venture-ready business.
“We’ve achieved what we have so far because Prosemino didn’t just advise—they built with us. They provided space, leadership, technical expertise, and the momentum we needed to become investor-ready fast.” — Dan Brett, CEO of Sention
What’s Next for Sention
With this new round of funding, Sention will scale up production, accelerate development of the gigafactory-ready Sentry system, and expand internationally.
This is a huge milestone for the Sention team—and for our venture-building model at Prosemino. It demonstrates that when scientists and engineers are given not just advice, but embedded leadership, infrastructure, and a strategy-led environment to operate in, it’s possible to turn deep tech into global commercial ventures.
We’re excited for what’s ahead. And we’re just getting started.
